Detroit Offers a Lot to Love

I was born and mostly raised near Detroit. I love the city for a fierce, even though it is best known for its dark flaws. Media We think so, but there really is a lot to love in Detroit.

Of my favorite things in the Detroit Belle Isle, Motor City's literally right in the middle of the island is an oasis of nature. As a child, I remember going there to feed the deer, and zoo, aquarium, and hot to go. Well, the audience is no longer allowed to feed deer, and zoo and aquarium is closed for two years. Anna Scripps Whitcomb is still open but warm. It is beautiful inside and out, with beautiful gardens and grounds, and it's free. And now there is a nature center, also free, and a great playground. Additionally, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum (free!), a giant slide and a potato sack swan boat ride (small fee for both). Detroit by the Detroit River and Windsor, riding bikes can picnic with scenic views, one even go to the beach. Old buildings, statues, fountains, and bridges scattered about Belle Isle add visual interest while the car, bike, or walking tour, in addition to ponds, river and skyline beyond. No food or refreshments in the way of the island (one or two very limited hours with various concession stands) are available, so bring your food is highly recommended.

My favorite recent Detroit's riverfront. The Detroit River, where people hang out with their families or come on during their lunch break, Detroit has to offer you some of the best enjoying a beautiful stretch. Parking is cheap and plentiful, and the area clean and safe. A carousel animals indigenous to Michigan being all seats, benches river, grass perfect spot for a picnic, concession stands, even with the guard, a State Park (Tri-Centennial State Park and Harbor). A boat (Diamond Jack River Tour) tour, Hart Plaza, Renaissance Center or the head can take. Ren-center out, as we locals call it, a great fountain kids can play on a hot day. Places to eat in a bite or to get some ice cream, do a little shopping, have your hair, buy a car or people mover, which is a great city and seeing only cost a ride catch 50 one way (children are free) st. For a real treat, Coach Insignia on the Rain - Central dinner on the top floor offers the best view in town.

Greektown on you to pick the right people fast, if you would rather have a more ethnic food. For many, Casino Greektown, street artists, musicians, people watching and historic buildings for dessert, Astoria Pastry Shop selected restaurants.

Detroit some great, (Detroit Institute of Arts) DIA, Detroit Historical Museum Detroit Children's Museum, Detroit Science Center, and Charles H. Wright Museum of African American history including the world-class museums, offers. A couple of these, I have yet to travel which I love because I do further to do with your kids to see.

Detroit attracted some grand theaters that show really is great. Fisher Theatre, Masonic Temple, Detroit Opera House and Fox Theatre hosts the popular shows and concerts year-round. Orchestra Hall, Gem Theatre, and Wayne State University Hilberry Theatre Bonstelle theater and visual arts of the city to add.

This listing is just the tip of the iceberg. Detroit is so much to offer. With its unique restaurants, festivals, ice skating downtown, and sports venues, there really is something for everyone. In fact all the fans and advocates and the city can handle it can use.
